Recently I bought this cotton Kasavu saree with an elaborate pallu from this online ecommerce website Binks. I thought of sharing my real experience from unboxing to wearing it for my college friends get-together event.
I wanted something simple yet elegant which I can wear for both casual and semi-formal occasions. That’s the reason behind buying this Kasavu saree.
I was going through different online shopping sites like Myntra, Ajio, Nykaa, etc, but then I thought of trying some normal e-commerce sites, and that is how I came across this Off White & Gold Cotton Kerala Saree by Binks.
I ordered right away, and it reached me in 2 days, way before the event day. So I had enough time to get my blouse stitched within that short span of time.
The packaging was well covered in a pink colored Binks branded box.
If you’re wondering how this saree is in terms of quality, comfort, and style, I’ll walk you through each detail based on my own experience. Let’s see more about the saree:
This saree stood out to me because of its comfortable fabric, detailed design, and especially the bold pallu. Each part adds something unique that makes wearing it a different experience.

Fabric Quality and Feel
The cotton fabric feels soft and sturdy. This makes it perfect for long wear. There is no discomfort even during the hot weather.
The fabric surface is smooth; that gives a good feel while wearing. Due to its tight weave, it hangs well without any wrinkage. Overall a perfect wear without being too bulky.
Design Details
The off white base with golden pallu is the famous Kerala saree design that is subtle and clean. Because of its white color, it is easy to pair with different blouses.
The gold threadwork looks perfectly fine, adding a touch of elegance. I found the pallu long enough to drape in various styles, which gives flexibility for different occasions and looks.
Perfect Occasions to Wear
I think this saree shines at daytime events like brunches, small weddings, or festive gatherings. The cotton fabric keeps it comfortable during long hours, especially in warm weather. Its subtle elegance works well for office parties or cultural functions too.
Care and Maintenance
Since it is a cotton saree, a gentle wash in cold water with light detergent will suffice. Also while ironing, make sure it is done on the reverse side to avoid any damage to the gold thread work.
In terms of storage, it can be stored inside a cotton or muslin bag if possible. Avoid plastic bags at all cost.
Pros
- Soft, breathable cotton
- Lightweight and drapes well
- Priced right
Cons
- Embroidery may fade slightly
- Not ideal for heavy washing

Final Thoughts
The quality, look, and cost of this saree are all balanced. Given the quality of the fabric and saree work, the pricing is fair. The off-white base with the gold detailing looks neat without being flashy.
Also the elaborate pallu is woven with more details. If you want something classic but cozy, I believe it is a good deal.
In my opinion, this saree is a good choice for semi-formal to casual events. The fabric quality, in my opinion, justifies the price point, and it looks elegant without being grand.
