My Writing Process- Blog writing tour!

This post is part of blog writing tour. I got an invite from Sindhu to share my writing process by answering 4 questions. At the end of the post, I am gonna nominate one blogger to share her writing process.  The concept is, to share mutual interest and get to know about fellow bloggers.

What am I currently working on ?

I am currently working on a few articles which are a mix of product reviews and some makeup looks. I also have a huge garage sale planned so currently I am getting all those products clicked and marked for sale.

How does my work differ from others in this genre?

With due respect to every single beauty blogger out there, I wanted to show something which had not been shown before. I want to review products which have not been reviewed on the Indian blogosphere. I choose my products to review very carefully because if there are already 20 reviews out there of the same product then readers wont be as interested in Pinkrimage as I would like them to be. I pick up products which are not available in India easily and review them because these products have not been reviewed exhaustively on the Indian blogosphere and with the changing times, almost everybody has access to everything in the world. So these reviews will come in handy when we are searching for a product which is available abroad but we first want to see how it works of Indian skin or skin tones. I try to work hard on my images so that they depict the product in its true light and my readers would want to purchase the product if the review is positive and the images should do justice to the product.

Why do I write what I do?

I have a full time job as a petroleum engineer in one of the major Oil & Gas public sector companies in India. I travel 2 hours a day for office and leave home by 9.30 A.M and come back at 8 P.M. I cook my own food and take care of the house by myself. Despite of all this, how and why do I take out 2 hours every day to work on my blog is the question. I started this blog because this was something close to my heart. I like makeup. Simple as that. I like being prim and proper. I have nothing against women who don’t put makeup every day. I do. Because I like it and not because I want to look pretty in the eyes of others or because I don’t look pretty without makeup.  I want every women to understand and pledge that we won’t slap on makeup because our friends are prettier and we want to do the same. Or no boy would marry me if I don’t look ready all the time. IT IS OKAY TO LOOK NATURAL. Focus on skincare. Focus on your inner self. That’s all I want to say out aloud to all women out there. Do something if you like doing it, not because others do it! Use makeup to accentuate your features. Don’t hide behind makeup.

How does your writing process work?

As I said, I only find free time in the weekends. On the weekdays, I am not at home for most part of the day so it becomes impossible to click pictures in bright daylight. So what I do is, I gather all the products which I plan to review in the coming week or two, and I click all the pictures on Sunday.  Then on the weekdays whenever I find time, I edit those pictures and put watermarks on them. I also write reviews as and when I get time during weekdays after office and save them as drafts. When pictures are edited and watermarked, I compile the article and post it. Then after posting, I update on all social networks and groups which again takes a lot of time. So all in all, I keep doing bits and pieces for articles and then post them whenever I get time. But yeah, sometimes I really wish there was an extra hour each day!

Hope you liked my thoughts and writing process.

Now I will nominate Krupa from Ishtyle Awhile to continue this blog writing tour and tell us about her writing process 😀
