The Body Shop British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter – Review

While the winters are almost over, body butters from The Body Shop are a boon for people like me who have a very dry skin all year long. I got The Body Shop British Rose body butter as a part of the British rose gift set the husband got for me. I wanted to try this range ever since I tried the body lotion in store. The British Rose gift set contains a shower gel, a bath foam, a body butter, and a hand cream. I will review all the four products once I use them. For now, let’s get on with the review of The body shop British Rose body butter.

My Review of The body shop British Rose Body Butter:

The body butter comes in a standard tub packaging with a screw-on lid. The packaging is sturdy but there is always the risk of the lid getting opened inside the bag and creating a mess everywhere. The color of the butter of soft pink which looks so soothing and pretty.

The texture of the butter is lighter as compared to some of the other TBS body butters I have used. It is light and airy and gets absorbed fairly easily into the skin. There is absolutely no greasiness left behind. It keeps my skin hydrated for at least 6-7 hours in winters.

The fragrance of the body butter is something i want to emphasize as this range is beautiful when it comes to its fragrance. When you open the jar, a sharp fragrance of fresh roses hits you which mellows down to a subtle fresh rose fragrance after a while. My skin smells so good all day like I just took a walk in a garden full of roses. I really like the fragrance but I think it might be too strong for some people.

When it comes to The Body Shop body butters, I always prefer the lighter and fresh variants like Moringa, Rose, and Satsuma as compared to the heavy shea butter and cocoa versions. This tub lasted for around 2 months for me with daily usage in winters. I do find it a bit heavy for summers.

Overall, i really liked The body shop British Rose Body Butter which is a great body moisturizer for people who have normal to dry skin. The fragrances is beautiful and the butter gets absorbed into the skin easily.

Body Butter Benefits:

Many people think that using a body butter instead of a body lotion is a waste of money but there are many benefits of body butters which you cannot get with a body lotion. A body butter is designed to provide intense hydration to the skin while nourishing it from the inside. It contains pure ingredients which heal the skin and get rid of the dryness. They also make your skin radiant and control signs of aging as most people tend to not pay as much attention to their body as they pay to their face when it comes to aging. These are some of the body butter benefits that you cannot get with an average body lotion.

Body Butter vs Body Lotion:

If you think that a body butter is just an expensive version of a body lotion, you are wrong. Body butter and body lotion are very different products with each having its own benefits. Lets see some of the differences below:

A body butter vs. body lotion:

  • Consistency – Body lotion is very thin as compared to a body butter.
  • Nourishment – Body lotions do not hydrate the skin as deeply as body butters.
  • Staying power – most body lotions last for only 2-3 hours on the skin while body butters provide intense hydration for at least 7-8 hours.
  • Body butters have a whipped consistency while body lotions have a runny consistency.

FAQs:

Q. Can I use body butter on my face?

A. No. Unless you have a very dry face which feels parched, do not use a body butter on the face as it can lead to acne breakouts because body butters are quite heavy. It is also not advisable to use a body lotion on the face also as your facial skin is very thin and needs a separate set of skincare products designed for the face.

Q. What is body butter good for?

A. Anybody who has a dry to very dry skin can use body butter to replenish the hydration levels of their skin. Body butters can really rejuvenate dry skin and reduce signs of aging if used regularly. Make sure that you choose the body butter depending on your skin type to get the maximum benefits.

Q. What butters are good for the skin?

 A. Butters like shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, and coconut butter are all good for the skin. The Body Shop range of body butters includes shea body butter, cocoa body butter, Strawberry body butter, Moringa body butter, almond milk and honey body butter, vitamin E body butter, and olive body butter. All the butters are equally good but some are for very dry skin and some are suited for normal to dry skin so choose accordingly.

So this was the review of The Body Shop British rose body butter. Have you tried it? How was your experience?

I like rose fragrances. I need to try this body butter. Also loved the way you have compared body butters to body lotions. Many people think body butters are a waste of money. But the benefits you have mentioned are true…
